MY ROLE

UI Design Lead
OVERVIEW

OVERVIEW

Tribeca is known for celebrating creativity across film TV music games immersive experiences and live events. To bring this spirit online we designed an interactive platform where audiences could tune into live sessions explore exclusive demos from Tribeca Games finalists and connect with the festival in a way that felt personal and inclusive.

My role was to define the design direction and UI while building a responsive design system that worked seamlessly across all devices. Having led the design for Tribeca’s online event the previous year this new iteration needed to go further by introducing a live gaming section and an immersive experience that expanded the scope of interaction.

01

Cross-platform

Technically the application needed to integrate seamlessly with Tribeca’s existing infrastructure including registration systems and SAP connections while also leveraging the cloud-based gaming platform Parsec to deliver smooth game demos and intuitive user interactions.

02

Wireframe

The web app had to operate within Tribeca’s existing infrastructure which posed challenges like implementing a fixed header for navigation and integrating a cloud-based gaming service that lived outside the main site. We also needed to separate the Game and Immersive sections while maintaining a unified experience. We achieved this through a multi-page choose-your-own-adventure format that kept the look and feel consistent throughout.

03

The Work

The audience leaned younger and included gamers so the site needed to reflect a gamified tech-driven vibe. As a gamer myself I used animated and interactive visuals to build excitement while keeping the interface clean and adaptable. The result was a bespoke gamified brand expression for Tribeca that balanced energy with usability.

PREVIOUS YEAR

I had previously led the design for the first Tribeca Games hub the year before. While the flow echoed the Game section shown in the wireframe above the visual style had to align with Tribeca’s branding for that year which included a specific colour palette and angular shape treatments provided by the team.
